The HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud Platform now supports Aruba Central and offers twelve new cloud services, including network, data services, supercomputing capabilities, and server operations management. Greenlake is also now available on the online marketplaces of leading distributors.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers even more for its hybrid cloud platform  HPE GreenLake. HPE GreenLake supports multi-cloud environments, including on-premises, distributed, co-located, and public clouds.

Platform innovations include:

The integration of Aruba Central, a cloud-native, AI-powered network management solution, with the HPE GreenLake platform. More than 120,000 Aruba network customers, with nearly 2 million devices to manage and 2 million API calls per day, can use the HPE GreenLake platform to order services and manage their infrastructure.

A new, simplified user experience with unified access to all cloud services in the HPE portfolio, with single sign-on access, security, compliance, elasticity and data security.

HPE also introduced twelve new cloud services in networking, data services, high-performance computing and server operations management.

HPE GreenLake for Aruba

HPE is expanding its HPE GreenLake for Aruba network-as-a-service (NaaS) portfolio with eight new offerings. They simplify the procurement and deployment process and allow customers to tailor their network spending to their needs while ensuring the network is always ready to support their business goals.

The new services are also optimized for channel partners looking to serve the growing demand for NaaS, whether as resellers or managed service providers. The new services cover the full range of customer use cases – including wired, wireless and SD branch solutions – and offer unprecedented speed and flexibility.

HPE GreenLake for Block Storage

HPE GreenLake for Block Storage is the industry’s first Block Storage-as-a-Service that guarantees 100% data availability in a cloud operating model. The self-service operation gives business units and database administrators the flexibility to deploy new applications, services and projects. With intent-based provisioning, they can save 98 per cent of the time that would otherwise be required for configuration and other administrative activities.

HPE Backup and Recovery Service

HPE Backup and Recovery is a backup-as-a-service designed for hybrid clouds. Customers can easily protect their data, perform fast recovery in their data centre and store backups in the public cloud for the long term and cost-effectively. HPE Backup and Recovery Service is now available for virtual machines deployed on heterogeneous infrastructures. In addition, HPE is expanding its ransomware recovery solutions to include immutable data copies—in-house, on AWS, and in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

HPE GreenLake for High-Performance Computing

HPE is expanding its HPE GreenLake for High-Performance Computing (HPC) offering with new technologies for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives. Also, there are now lower HPC entry points, with a smaller ten-node configuration to test and scale applications as needed. New features include:

  • New GPU Options with the HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10 System. These include NVIDIA A100, A40, and A30 tensor-core GPUs. In addition, the new service features NVIDIA NVLink for a seamless, high-speed connection between GPUs that work together as a single robust accelerator.
  • HPE Slingshot, the world’s only high-performance Ethernet fabric designed for HPC and AI solutions. This can be used to deploy high-performance networks that meet the demands for increased speed and congestion control for larger data-intensive and AI workloads.
  • HPE Parallel File System Storage, a scalable, high-performance storage solution that delivers unprecedented throughput for HPC and AI needs.

HPE GreenLake for Computer Ops Management

First introduced at  HPE Discover 2021, HPE GreenLake Compute Ops Management is a cloud-native management console for accessing, monitoring and managing servers. HPE Compute Ops Management automates the lifecycle management of a customer’s entire server environment across all locations. The cloud service is available for a  90-day free trial starting today and will be available for purchase in June 2022.

HPE Expands HPE GreenLake Partner Ecosystem First announced

in March 2021, HPE GreenLake is now available directly on the cloud marketplaces and e-commerce platforms of ALSO Group, Arrow Electronics, Ingram Micro and TD Synnex. This enables over 100,000 partners to use HPE GreenLake to provide cloud services to their customers. New features include a catalogue of predefined cloud services for the marketplaces and improvements in the automation of ordering and billing.

HPE also today announced the availability of HPE GreenLake for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, a pre-integrated system provisioned through HPE GreenLake and billed per consumption.

BMW Group relies on Greenlake

The  BMW Group chose the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform to streamline and unify their data management across global locations and the cloud. HPE will provide cloud services for big data, backup, recovery and compliant archiving to the world’s leading premium automotive and motorcycle manufacturer. This enables the BMW Group to manage globally distributed databases via a single platform with a consistent cloud experience.

“Data is becoming a key enabler of competitive advantage in the automotive industry, while at the same time the complexity of data management is increasing as data becomes more distributed, voluminous, diverse and fast-moving,” said Antonio Neri, CEO and President of HPE. “We look forward to working with the BMW Group to meet this challenge by providing a unified cloud experience for managing any data, anywhere. On this basis, the value of the data can be fully exploited.”

First, HPE GreenLake will facilitate the analysis of data collected from electric test vehicles worldwide to accelerate their time-to-market. This data – such as battery temperature, power loss or vehicle speed – is managed via the HPE Ezmeral analytics and data lakehouse platform. This gives the BMW Group’s data scientists and engineers universal and direct access to the data, regardless of its storage. HPE Ezmeral also offers a global catalogue of analytics tools and data processes for analysis and simulation. The solution is delivered as a service via the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform.

Via the edge-to-cloud platform HPE GreenLake, the BMW Group will also use Veritas and Cohesity in combination with HPE Store Once for data backup and recovery and solutions from eternity based on HPE Primera for legally compliant archiving.

Finally, HPE today announced a new global agreement with Digital Realty, the world’s largest cloud and carrier-neutral data centre provider, colocation and interconnection solutions. Digital Realty enables customers to run any HPE GreenLake service in Digital Realty’s 285+ data centres across six continents, including locations in 50 major cities. Customers benefit from a seamless process with a single contract, one invoice and integrated service management.
